When it comes down to it, it is always about the meeting of forces; inside/outside, duality, and the gray areas in between. The process is an attempt to connect the dots and the artistic intent is to deconstruct the external so as to truthfully as possible reveal the internal. As with most artists I know, I struggle to find balance between my personal and social responsibilities and my work reflects that, cycling through extroverted themes of societal concern and quieter times of personal introspection.

My roots are in the Midwest. Originally from Minneapolis, where I studied with Cork Marcheschi, the kinetic artist and Siah Armajani, the renowned conceptual artist, I then lived for several years in New York City where I received my BA in studio art and the social sciences from SUNY Empire State College.  I now reside outside of Boston. When the opportunity arises I like to teach the creative process as well as the exploration of mixed media.
